Tuckered Out...but Thrilled!

Over 300 GEM missionaries converged in Sopron, Hungary for GEM’s annual conference. As a new-be, there were many people to meet and things to learn. I loved every minute of it!
Highlights include:
*this year’s annual conference topic was Love & Respect. Emerson Eggerich, pastor and marriage counselor, shared a simple and yet eye-opening message from the Word for cultivating healthy relationships; specifically marriage relationships. I am so glad that GEM put value on the topic of marriage because it is an area that is under heavy attack and it was evident GEM does not desire it’s missionaries to be casualities! I’d recommend the seminars and more information can be found at http://www.loveandrespectministries.com/
*learning more about the spiritual climate of Europe and hearing about different ministries that GEM is involved in.
*seeing how GEM as a collective body communicates with one another (for my teacher friends it’s comparable to sitting in on the staff meetings of a school and seeing how things operate)
*laughing, playing games into the wee hours, and worshipping together!
*sharing meals with veteran missionaries and picking their brains! (my favorite)
*John and Holly Carden are a missionary couple in Serbia who we, as a Portugal team, had numerous conversations with. We will, Lord willing, join them in Serbia for a week or more in April to help host a youth camp.
